Antoni Cygan honoured
Silver Cane with Red Rose and membership of the Society of Friends of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw for Professor Antoni Cygan, lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice, previous rector of the school.
During the Christmas Eve meeting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Silver Canes with Red Roses were awarded along with honorary memberships of the Society of Friends of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw to professors Antoni Cygan from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice and Piotr Kielan from the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Wrocław.
The Secret Chapter, composed of secret members, unanimously awarded these distinctions to both Professors on a secret day at a secret time.
The Society was founded in 1929 by prof. Karol Stryjeński. On behalf of the President of the Management Board, prof. Stanisław Wieczorek, the lifelong title of Knight of the Cane was awarded by prof. Jacek Dyrzyński in the presence of the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, prof. Błażej Ostoja Lniski.
