Simple Desires: exhibition of paintings by Piotr Kossakowski
Opening on Thursday 11 May at 18:00. The exhibition is open until 17 June at Elektrownia Contemporary Art Gallery.
The artist's sensual painting focuses on colour. Colours are the medium of emotions: pure, saturated, contrasting. He paints portraits of famous people, artists and politicians, as well as portraits of devastated and littered cities. He creates – as he puts it – industrial elegies about contemporary life captured in an abstract multi-coloured image. He writes about his works as being ‘the result of observation of the surrounding reality with a zoom aimed at the objects of contemporary space.’
