Born in Ruda Śląska in 1950, he lives and works in Chorzów. He studied at the Faculty of Graphic Art of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (branch in Katowice), graduating in 1974. Professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, where he is Head of the Intaglio Techniques Studio. He practises printmaking (etching) and drawing. He has received a creative grant of the Ministry of Culture and Art (Poznań, 1978), a grant of Aldegrever Gesellschaft (Münster 1985), and a Lower Saxony Cultural Scholarship, Silesia 1992 (Hanover 1992). Since 1975, he has shown his works in 220 national and community exhibitions and over 85 international exhibitions of Polish printmaking. He has also participated in international biennials and triennials of graphic art, including in Kraków, Fredrikstad (merit award), Ljubljana, Łódź (medal), Frechen, Grado (award), Baden-Baden, Grenchen, San Francisco, Biella, London, Amador, Toronto (award and merit award), Banska Bystrica (merit award), Leicester, Chamalières, Sarcelles, Bitola, Varna and Warsaw.
