Insurance
All students coming to Poland must obtain the insurance policy prior to their arrival in Poland.
EU/EFTA STUDENTS
1. European Health Insurance System
Students should obtain European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) in their home countries. The EHIC entitles you to free-of-charge health care provided by clinics/hospitals/doctors who have a contract with the Polish National Health Fund (NFZ). The facilities of these health care providers are marked with the NFZ logo:You will have to present the card (it is advisable to also have a copy) and student ID together with an identity document directly to the health care provider. Please check the NFZ website for more information.
2. Private insurance providers
If you do not have national health insurance in your home country or you cannot obtain the European Health Insurance Card, you can purchase non-public health and accident insurance. Make sure the insurance period covers the whole period of studies (some insurance companies limit the number of days you can spend abroad to e. g. 90 days per year). You must present your insurance policy when using health services. Depending on the terms and conditions of your insurance, you can receive health care free of charge, or you will be charged, and you will have to get reimbursement of the costs from your insurance company.NON-EU EFTA STUDENTS
In order to have an insurance before coming to Poland you should purchase health and accident insurance from private insurance providers in your home country.
