Odloty (Departures) - Faculty of Design diplomas 2021
Departures 2021. Diplomas of the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.
From the project of a drone that transports defibrillators to an application that supports recovery from TV series addiction. Students of the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice present their diploma theses. The exhibition can be visited in the period from 21 June until 4 July. Free admission, advance booking required.
Due to the restrictions with regards to the pandemic, the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice is not organising public defenses of diploma theses this year. It is still possible to check what the young designers are working on. To do so, please visit the open room of the building located at ul. Raciborska 50, in which this year's diploma works of students of graphic design and industrial design are presented until 4 July.
The scope of the workshop and topics are, as usual, enormous. The students of the Faculty of Design prepared, among other things, a project of a drone that could be used to transport defibrillators, a bicycle guide, a van to transport horses or a project of a service that would facilitate the recruitment system and cooperation between Ukrainian workers and Polish employers. Students from the Faculty of Graphic Design have also prepared interesting projects. At the exhibition, it will be possible to see, for example, a short animated film that presents the problems of people with hearing impairment or the project of a mobile app that would help to cope with addiction to TV series.
What does service and product design look like in practice? The best way to find out is to visit the Departures exhibition, during which the latest diploma works of students from the Faculty of Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice are presented.
