The Most Beautiful Books of the Year 2019: two awards for AFA Katowice
Books designed by Roman Kaczmarczyk, AFA Katowice lecturer, receive award and honourable mention in the Catalogues, bibliophile editions and other category
The winning book is Wszystko to węgiel – Bogdan Topor, graphic design by Roman Kaczmarczyk; published by the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.
An honourable mention went to Ireneusz Walczak. Narkoza i euforia 2019-1988 edited by Anna Cichoń, Grzegorz Hańderek, Roman Kaczmarczyk; graphic design and typesetting by Roman Kaczmarczyk; published by the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.
The 60th competition for the Most Beautiful Books of the Year had 84 participating publishing houses, which submitted 187 titles developed by artists (illustrators, graphic designers, typographers) living in Poland. The publishers of the winning books receive honorific diplomas, and the printing houses get letters of congratulations. The artists are awarded diplomas and financial prizes.
