Art critic and theoretician, curator. Teacher at the Department of Theory and History of Art of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, and at the Faculty of Intermedia of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He managed the Kronika Gallery in Bytom in 2001-2002, and has cooperated with the Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art in Słupsk since 2007. Author of about 300 publications in periodicals, books, and websites, and of over 100 exhibition projects in Polish and foreign galleries. Participant and organiser of seminars and conferences on contemporary art (National Museum in Kraków, University of Silesia in Katowice). Editor-in-chief of Fort Sztuki in 2004-2007. Editor of several books, including Kroki w historii grafiki (Kraków 2006) and Eksplozja litery. Ikonografia tekstualności jako źródło cierpień (Gdańsk-Katowice 2016). In his theoretical work he focuses on the anthropology of identity and subjectivity, and its iconographic presentation in contemporary art.
