Forgive me for being a human – Michalina Klasik in Brno
The exhibition shows a cycle of works connected to the artistic residence at the Joya : arte+ecologia institute in Spain, completed by Michalina W. Klasik last year.
The exhibition is composed of a series of objects, drawings, texts and non-invasive spatial activities.
The works refer to the fear evoked by man's destructive actions towards nature. They oppose the anthropocentric vision of the world and attempt to talk about the Earth as the only appropriate 'religion,' about the search for balance and spirituality in contact with nature, about the difficult-to-bear knowledge, the feeling of helplessness, the attempts to 'do good' and the related failures. And most important of all, about the need of care, which should replace dominance.
The exhibition is composed of a series of objects, drawings, texts and non-invasive spatial activities. The presented works are divided into 3 thematic parts: confrontation with the information about man' destructive actions towards nature, the author's own manifesto and search for balance between what is human and what belongs to nature, and the attempted acts of compensation.
