How charts lie and how they make us smarter: open lecture
Are data visualisations always objective and easy to understand? How to spot the manipulation of the authors of charts that lie?
The problem will be presented by Alberto Cairo, a visualisation and data journalism expert from the University of Miami.
Alberto Cairo is the author of The Functional Art: An Introduction to Information Graphics and Visualization (2012) and The Truthful Art: Data, Charts and Maps for Communication (2016). He has cooperated with editors such as El Mundo (Spain) and Época (Brazil).
The lecture will take place in the AFA cinema on Thursday 22 November at 14:30.
