Kamil Kocurek: Prints
Exhibition of works by 2015 alumnus of Prof. Jan Szmatloch’s Intaglio Studio of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. The exhibition accompanies the 11th Polish Print Triennial.
Kamil Kocurek lives in Gdańsk and works at the Faculty of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, at the Studio of Basics of Graphic Art headed by dr hab. Magdalena Hanysz-Stefańska, prof. ASP.
Since 2013, he has been an active participants of numerous exhibitions and graphic art reviews in Poland and abroad. In the recent years, he has presented solo exhibitions in Katowice, Warszawa, Poznań, Wrocław, Bydgoszcz and Quebec City in Canada.
His achievements include the Main prize at the 1st Xuyuan International Print Biennial China in Beijing (2016), Main prize at the 4th Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland in Sfântu Gheorghe in Romania (2016) and the Second Award at the 5th International Biennial of Engraving Etching of Valladolid in Spain (2016). He has also won the Grand Prix of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Award at the Polish Print Triennial in Katowice (2015) and the Award of Rectors at the Esteemed Graduates of Polish Academies of Fine Arts Exhibition, Gdansk (2015).
His most recent achievements include the First Award at the 1st National Graphic Art Contest Grafiteka (2017) and honourable mentions at the 45th International Print Award Carmen Arozena in Madrid, Spain (2017) and at the 3rd International Engraving Competition Jose Guadalupe Posada in Mexico (2017).
Kamil Kocurek was also a grantee of the Scholarship of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (2014) and winner of the Award of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2013).
