re:wind, the end-of-year exhibition at AFA in Katowice
We gather speed throughout the entire year but in June we say “stop.” We pause for a moment, rewind the tape and contemplate the results of the year’s work. The re:wind end-of-year exhibition at AFA in Katowice showcases the works of 600 young artists, developed during the last 8 months. Opening: Tuesday 12 June, 17:00-22:00.
This is the biggest exhibition organised by AFA in Katowice. It presents the study programmes and the work results of students from each year, each study field and each studio. The exhibition will be open from 12 to 19 June, Mon-Fri from 13:00 to 18:00 and at weekends from 11:00 to 19:00.
The end-of-year exhibits include paintings, prints, installations, objects, set decorations, public space projects, intermedia, computer games, products, websites, books, visual identities, multimedia projects. The authors are students of the four AFA programmes: painting, graphic art, design and graphic design, and of art therapy, the inter-university programme created jointly by the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, University of Silesia and Medical University of Silesia.
The exhibition allows everyone to see the effects of young artists’ cooperation with their teachers. In addition, it presents the wide spectrum of AFA’s educational activities to art lovers, students of art, humanities and other fields, as well as to professionals of various backgrounds. It is a great opportunity to find that the AFA in Katowice provides its students with the possibilities for acquire all the skills necessary for an artist or designer: from classical painting and printmaking techniques to computer games, virtual reality and new product development.
