Schronienie (Shelter): opening on 1 September
Works of students and lecturers of the AFA Katowice to be seen in the heavy Polish combat bunker in Ruda Śląska. The exhibition opens on 1 September, on the 80th anniversary of the WWII outbreak
Ligia Dekiert, Tobiasz Frączek, Paweł Sobczak, Konstanty Stańczyk, Martyna Stefaniak are currently 3rd-, 4th- and 5-th year students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. The works presented at the “Schronienie” exhibition were selected from the project assignments created at the Multigraphical Creations Studio taught by Prof. Ewa Zawadzka and Dr. Judyta Bernaś at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice (Faculty of Art, Chair of Intermedia and Scenography). One of the artists is Hanna Shmatok, graduate of the Belarusian State Academy of Art in Minsk and this year’s grantee of the “Gaude Polonia” scholarship programme of Poland’s Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Her tutor was Dr. Judyta Bernaś. The exhibition has been organized to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the World War II, following an invitatin from the “Prochownia 1910” paramilitary association and the Museum of Ruda Śląska.
