Three awards for one design
IF Design Award 2020, Red Dot and Dobry Wzór are the awards won by a team of plant pot designers, including an AFA Katowice student
The Design Studio Kabo & Pydo, where Jacek Nosiła is a product designer, has won the 2020 IF Design Award. The international jury of one of the design industry’s most important competitions recognised the design of the Poppy wall-hanging plant pot: its minimalist modern shape, functionality and easy fitting. The plant pot allows efficient use of space, especially in small flats, and the creation of green walls. The same design was earlier recognized with a 2019 Dobry Wzór award by the Institute of Industrial Design.
Jacek Nosiła, a student of design, is currently working on his Bachelor’s diploma at the Public Space Studio. He completed his summer internship at the Kabo & Pydo studio under the “100/Stu” internship programme of the AFA Katowice. Kabo & Pydo is a design & strategy studio founded by Katarzyna Borkowska and Tomasz Pydo in 2012. They apply a holistic and creative approach to their projects, informed by their own research, current trends and Design Thinking. They strengthen the competitive edge of manufacturers and support their business goals by meeting the needs of users. The Kabo & Pydo studio visited our school with an inspiring lecture on challenges faced by designers during last year’s Design na Beztydzień project week.
