Ucho igielne – readers’ meeting
This month we are reading Ucho Igielne by Wiesław Myśliwski. As usual, we meet at the AFA Library.
‘Ucho igielne offers a moving meditation on the destiny, memory and history, the enigma of intimate relations, and first of all on the mystery of youth meeting old age. Myśliwski’s novel reflects a big chunk of Polish history with all its dramatic, painful, omitted and unspoken bits. It is a book about the passage of time and how it marks a person’s experience of oneself and of the world. Beautiful, profound literature, combining keen observation and a tenderness for the human being with a symbolic dimension’ as was announced by the book’s editor.
