Type and Sign Studio

The studio defines typography as visual message design, which aims to facilitate the reception and comprehension of text (reading). In practice, the typographer’s activity consists in designing the reading experience. The studio aims to form rational, responsible, creative and innovative attitudes in future designers. The main emphasis is on developing the ability to recognize the actual needs, properly defining a design problem, finding the best and most effective way to solve it. The usefulness of typographic message and the relation: sender – designer – user / receiver are key issues on which the semester tasks are focused. Studies teach the conscious creation and use of typographic means (character and sign) in response to the real needs of the user.
