Polish Snow Sculpture Championship in Szklarska Poręba: two awards for AFA Katowice artists
The AFA Katowice team won two awards at the Polish Snow Sculpture Championship in Szklarska Poręba. It was the third time the team led by Tomasz Koclęga won the Popular Choice Award, this time together with the third prize.
Tomasz Koclęga reports:
We were the only university to win two awards, in spite of the difficult weather conditions: the falling rain and the snow melting before our eyes. Our sculpture titled “Radio” won the third prize. It was designed by Piotr Pucher (Faculty of Design) and made by the author and his team: Michał Goliszewski (Faculty of Design) and Krzysztof Momot (Faculty of Art). The trophies will join other awards won by our students in previous editions of the championship, making up a sizable collection of five statuettes. The championship is part of the Trójka Górom festival, organized in cooperation with Channel 3 of the Polish Radio.
